Riverfront Esplande stretches over a mile along the Intracoastal Waterway, featuring wide spacious sidewalks, beautiful gardens, incredible water features, a splash pad, dog park, playground areas, and a future marina.

One of the standout features of this park is the mesmerizing fountains that grace its landscape. As you wander through the park, you\’ll come across these elegant water features that not only offer a visual spectacle but also provide a soothing ambiance. Mary McLeod Bethune Statue
The Mary McLeod Bethune Statue is such a powerful reminder of the rich history of the Daytona Beach area. With grace and dignity, this statue pays tribute to an extraordinary woman whose legacy goes far beyond the park.
Mary McLeod Bethune was an amazing educator, civil rights leader, and visionary who made a huge impact on education and equality. Poised in the beautiful landscaping and design of the park, the statute is a reminder of resilience, empowerment, and the pursuit of dreams against all odds. It’s pretty inspiring and makes you want to grab your phone and learn more about this incredible leader.
Fun fact – Mary McLeod Bethune had to walk 5 miles school and started at age 11!

After a stroll through the enchanting Riverfront Esplanade Park in Daytona Beach, indulge your taste buds in the delectable dining options along the nearby Beach Street. Some of our favorites are the Dancing Avocado, Bay Steet Seafood, McK’s Tavern, Tia Cori’s Tacos, and Kale Cafe Juice Bar to name just a few. Picture yourself enjoying a waterside meal, with the soothing sounds of the river and soothing music being played through discreet speakers throughout the park.
Dog Park and Brownie
For those of us who share our lives with furry companions, this park is a dream come true. As Prince and Goose trotted through the well-maintained lawns and explored the dedicated dog park, it became clear that the Riverfront Esplanade Park isn’t just family-friendly – it’s dog lover-approved. Pets are required to have a membership to use the dog park, which ensures that all pets are vaccinated and provides our pups with agility courses, shade, and a place to meet new pet friends.
An additional endearing portion of the park is dedicated to Brownie, the Town Dog. Brownie was a stray dog who wandered the downtown area with a friendly demeanor and quickly found himself as everyone’s dog, rather than a stray dog. Brownie became a popular townie from 1940 to 1954 until his passing, which was featured on the front page of the Daytona Beach News-Journal. For me, this statue is a reminder that our local history is rooted in kindness and love for all walks of life.
